Oh, Great Spirit,

whose voice I hear in the winds

and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.

I am small and weak.

I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes

ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made

and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand

the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden

in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother,

but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.

Make me always ready to come to you

with clean hands and straight eyes,

so when life fades, as the fading sunset,

my spirit will come to you

without shame.

Have you ever tried going through your day and carrying on a conversation with the Creator?

Many of our Elders live in prayer. They talk to the Creator like the Creator is their best friend. It is easiest to do this if we pray in the morning and ask the Great Spirit to direct our thinking.

When the Creator is involved in guiding our lives, we will have less stress, anxiety, and tension. Maybe this is something we would like to try today.

"Oh, Creator, look at the Sun, how beautiful you have made it. Oh, look at this child, isn't she just beautiful! Well, Creator,

I'm not sure how I should do this task, what do you think? This person is starting to irritate me; I need your help to redirect my thinking.

Thanks for returning me to a peaceful mind."

as a Tribal member wouldn't it be neat if some how our language could be incorporated into our site  & call it (word of the day) or (our Language ) or even (Nation Speaks) make like a spot put up the word for the day or sentence what it means and how it's pronounced ? and ad a search bar for different meanings of our language. and then some kind of puzzle for our children to learn our language  the possibilities are endless.
